Janitor lose his foot in the escalator, another disaster escalator acciedent
A Shanghai man's lower leg has been amputated after becoming trapped in a mall escalator, the third serious escalator-related accident in China in a week.
The 35-year-old man, surnamed Zhang, was a cleaner at the Cloud Nine shopping mall in Shanghai, state media said.
Video surveillance footage from Saturday evening shows him placing a cloth near the top of the escalator and stepping on it to clean the escalator equipment before one of the escalator's metal floor panels give way, trapping his left lower leg.
Firefighters eventually rescued the man and he was sent to hospital where his leg was amputated from the calf down.
"The doctor said in order to prevent (the) situation from getting worse, they amputated his left calf," a family member of the victim told Xinhua.
An investigation into the accident is still underway but the latest state media reports say the victim violated operation regulations by not shutting the escalator down first before cleaning it.
"Since the incident, the shopping mall has stopped its escalator cleaning service, and held an emergency meeting to heighten the safety procedures for cleaning," Lin Yun, the deputy general manager of Cloud Nine mall told CNN.
"Before the escalator cleaning services can be resumed, the shopping mall has requested a list of the cleaning supervisors and workers that have undergone training as well as to provide the training report to the shopping mall."
Lin said the escalator had just been checked by a third-party quality assurance vendor in June, and the certification was valid until next year.
It is the third escalator incident in China this past week that has resulted in a serious injury or fatality.

Teacher Funny presentation so his class
Math, a subject a lot of student hate but some love it. It has always been a part of our lives, from learning to count our fingers to remembering our own house number. Well, math cannot be removed from our daily lives.
Well, math has been a headache for a lot of kids and even some adults still get headaches when they remember their math class. That’s why you math teachers out there should make sure that the subject you teach will be enjoyable enough for the student so they wouldn’t hate it.
There are a lot of ways to make teaching fun, it’s just up to you on what you will use and when will you use it. A good example is a teacher using a video of himself to interact with the class, actually this smart guy is actually doing a prank on his class about a “homework help video” that gets trigonometry wrong.
The person in the video clarifies what it should really be, making it look like the video is alive and really arguing with the teacher and vice versa. They even came to a point of fighting and throwing “desktop icons” at each other ending the fight when the video guy wins. Well, he’s just the same teacher with a baseball cap on. Escalator acciedent at mall the kid was died
According to the Daily Mail, The CCTV footage starts with an older boy stepping on to the escalator while the toddler waits at the top. The younger boy then grabs hold of the handrail and pulls himself up.
After managing to hang on to the handrail briefly, he slips and falls off, plunging to the floor of the shopping centre below. Different camera footage shows the horrible accident and the immediate reactions of the shoppers.
It was a miracle how this 2-year-old boy survives after accidentally falling on a few meters high escalator while he was playing.
Luckily, The two-year-old boy survives the fall after rushing him in to the nearest hospital.
For the parents, please take good care and always look after your children because you'll never know what possible harm could do to them outside while unattended until something horrifying like this happens.
